Trash and Windy Days - Not a Good Combination!

Please remember that trash should not be put out at the curb before Monday evening. On windy days, be sure your trash is securely tied up or sealed in trash bags. Be considerate of your neighbors and pick up any trash blown into streets or public areas.

Remember to Clean-up After Your Pets

The Ryerss Hunt Homeowners Association Board of Directors would like to remind pet owners of the township guidelines for animal nuisances.  It is the duty of the animal owner to properly clean up any feces deposited in the common ground/open area, on any neighbors’ property, and on any other public or private property.  It is unlawful to let an animal run at large at any time in the Township of West Whiteland and it is unlawful to allow any animal to be permitted to disturb the peace of the neighborhood.

Secure Your Trash

Since Tuesday has become the windiest day of week, we are requesting that homeowners secure their trash.  The Board has received numerous complaints about trash flying about the neighborhood.  Some recommendations to reduce the amount of trash in the neighborhood:

  •  Tie or tape trash bags closed.
  •  Secure paper in recycle bins by placing heavier magazines or catalogs on top or securing a few items with string and placing this on top of the paper in the bin.
  •  Tie cardboard into a bundle and place between or under bins.
  •  Secure glass and plastic by putting heavier items on top.  Try not to overload bins.
  •  The Township provides new homeowners with an initial 18 gallon bin.  Extra bins are available for purchase through the township or at any home improvement store.
  •  Trash pick-up is every Tuesday (the following day if it’s a holiday). Please do not place your trash out for pick-up until Monday evening at the earliest. Monday is the second windiest day of the week so trash placed at the curb too early can easily become your neighbor’s trash.

Parking

While on-street parking is not prohibited by the township or the neighborhood guidelines, the Board is requesting that homeowners park on the street only when necessary. If you must park on the street, please avoice parking directly across from another vehicle on the street. This situation reduces traffic flow and causes unnecessary congestion on our neighborhood streets.

Also, any RV, boat or personal commercial vehicle should be parked in the homeowner driveway and not on the street.
