Located in the heart of Chester County, Ryerss Hunt was once the site of Ryerss Farm for Aged Equines, a retirement facility for aged and/or abused horses.  In 1987, the formerly named Ryerss Infirmiry for Dumb Animals was sold and in 1991 the plans for the development were approved by West Whiteland Township.

Ryerss Hunt is a community of 192 single-family homes set on 187 acres. The community includes over 55 acres of open space and a nature path. In 1992, the first of many homes was built by The James-Lewis Group (Brandolini) and in1996, Dewey Properties began the completion of the homesites that were purchased from Brandolini Companies. The majority of the homes were completed by 1999.

In 1999, the Homeowners Association became fully resonsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all common areas and the funding of all operating expenses. From 1999 through to 2004, the Homeowners Association along with Brandolini Property Management and West Whiteland Township worked on site improvements leading to dedication.

Ryerss Hunt was dedicated in December 2004 by West Whiteland Township.
